Today
I thought about Rue Trousseau
And my heart hummed
As it did when my flippant feet
Traipsed its fabled cobblestones
O how my spirit was a tad lighter
My soul filled with glee
The Frenchman at the sidewalk cafe
Sipping his martini, smiled
He must have sensed the mirth
And the extra spring in my steps
O I love it there, I could be Pierre
I could start anew
On that autumn afternoon
On Rue Trousseau.
